Applications to become a Summer VolunTeen are now open!

A Summer VolunTeen is a teen volunteer (see what we did there?) who assists with library programs during the summer. Summer VolunTeens have the opportunity to earn a lot of volunteer hours through fun activities at the library, which can help with any future jobs or college applications! The best VolunTeen is someone who is reliable, helpful, enthusiastic, and loves the library! Teens must be entering grades 6-12 in the fall of 2026 in order to be eligible.

Teens who want to be considered for a volunteer position at the E.D. Locke Public Library during the summer can fill out this application. Take time to fill the application out thoroughly to give yourself the best chance of being accepted as a volunteer; not every applicant will automatically be accepted. Holly, the Teen Librarian, will contact all applicants by Friday, May 1st. Those who are accepted will be required to come to an orientation meeting near the end of May.

Applications must be turned in at the front desk of the library or emailed to teenservices [at] mcfarlandlibrary.org no later than Sunday, April 26th at 4:00pm.

Pick up an application at the front desk or download a copy here:
